Esta investigaci\u00f3n de Opini\u00f3n y Connectas revela que 62 conscriptos murieron desde 2011 en circunstancias violentas, la mayor\u00eda de ellos pobres y de origen campesino. Pero solo se conocen dos casos con una condena judicial a sus responsables. Bolivia es uno de los pocos pa\u00edses de Sudam\u00e9rica que mantiene el servicio militar obligatorio. Las muertes identificadas por este trabajo van desde fallecimientos por asfixia y golpes de calor a causa de entrenamientos excesivos, hasta disparos de armas de fuego y violaciones sexuales. Si bien todas se dieron por diferentes razones, muchas a\u00fan sin dilucidar, la mayor\u00eda de casos demuestra tres problemas estructurales con la estructura militar boliviana. En primer lugar, una cultura violenta en donde se confunde la rigurosidad castrense con la ejecuci\u00f3n de castigos f\u00edsicos y abusos que rayan en la tortura. Esto se suma adem\u00e1s a la discriminaci\u00f3n de los soldados de origen rural e ind\u00edgena, que componen la mayor\u00eda de las v\u00edctimas. Y finalmente, la impunidad en la justicia militar frente a los casos p\u00fablicos: solo dos han terminado en condenas. Los soldados que se someten al servicio militar obligatorio suelen ser de extracci\u00f3n rural, ascendencia ind\u00edgena y econom\u00edas modestas, ya que el premilitar exige alta solvencia de los padres: cuesta actualmente 850 bolivianos (unos 122 d\u00f3lares) solo la inscripci\u00f3n, a lo que hay que sumar el pago de uniforme, alimentaci\u00f3n y transporte, entre otros gastos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
