La entidad, convertida en banco digital masivo y auspiciante de Cerro Porte\u00f1o, Olimpia y Conmebol, fue intervenida por el Banco Central de Paraguay tras constatar que no contaba con el capital m\u00ednimo.El caso escala porque est\u00e1n en riesgo fondos p\u00fablicos y del Instituto de Previsi\u00f3n Social, que administra las jubilaciones. Seg\u00fan medios paraguayos, el IPS manten\u00eda unos 355 millones de d\u00f3lares en Ueno, alrededor del 9% de su cartera. Todo el directorio fue detenido por orden judicial, incluido Miguel V\u00e1zquez, presidente del Grupo V\u00e1zquez, propietario del banco, investigado por autopr\u00e9stamos a empresas vinculadas que superar\u00edan la liquidez de la entidad.Tras casi 12 horas de silencio, Pe\u00f1a anunci\u00f3 que pidi\u00f3 la renuncia del presidente del BCP, Carlos Carvallo, y que acord\u00f3 con el Congreso un proyecto de ley para autorizar el uso del Fondo de Garant\u00eda y pagar de inmediato a los ahorristas.
