La iniciativa se encuentra en revisi\u00f3n en la Comisi\u00f3n de Constituci\u00f3n, que comprometi\u00f3 agilizar la elaboraci\u00f3n del informe.La propuesta cobr\u00f3 relevancia tras el caso de Aldrin Ichuta, joven alte\u00f1o de 20 a\u00f1os con c\u00e1ncer \u00f3seo avanzado, quien desde El Alto difundi\u00f3 un video para pedir la aprobaci\u00f3n de la norma. Seg\u00fan reportes, fue internado de emergencia por agravamiento de dolores y p\u00e9rdida de sensibilidad, y solicit\u00f3 que su situaci\u00f3n impulse el debate legislativo.El proyecto, presentado en agosto de 2026, plantea regular la eutanasia como medida excepcional y subsidiaria para mayores de edad en fase terminal irreversible, con diagn\u00f3stico de dos m\u00e9dicos independientes, evaluaciones psicol\u00f3gica y psiqui\u00e1trica y un periodo de reflexi\u00f3n de 15 d\u00edas. Tambi\u00e9n propone crear un Sistema Nacional de Cuidados Paliativos gratuito y oportuno.
