Leoni viaj\u00f3 desde Estados Unidos en un avi\u00f3n privado contratado por la exparlamentaria Laura Rojas, y se desconoce su paradero desde entonces.La investigaci\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 despu\u00e9s de una alerta internacional emitida por Estados Unidos, y se han encontrado pruebas que vinculan a Leoni y a otros implicados con una red de narcotr\u00e1fico. Aunque se allanaron galpones de la Empresa Boliviana de Seguridad, solo se encontr\u00f3 marihuana l\u00edquida y no las maletas con divisas.
